Azilia Radio breaks 100 presets

This weekend the radio station hit a nice milestone of a 100 listeners who have saved the station as a preset in their Live365 player. While in college, I was a DJ at WUOG. You never really knew if anyone was listening or not. What's even cooler is that I know that I have listeners from not only the US, Canada, and Mexico but 11 countries in Europe and Australia.

I've been goofing off on the Internet for 17 years and I'm still amazed by our abilitity to connect with each other around the world.

GSP Chronicle

I just received the March issue of the GSP Chronicle. For those that don't know, this is a must have online periodical listing upcoming events, frield trial results, current standings, and informative articles. It is available every month as a PDF and is a very reasonable $25/year. The latest issue also covers the 2008 Bird Dog Hall of Fame ceremony and the second chapter of a book on judging field trails.

Playlist Update and Listener Submissions

Inching closer to 24 hours of non-stop twang attack (45 minutes to go), I just added some tracks from Dolly, Austin Allsup, Blue Rodeo, Dave Alvin, Gary Louris, The Great Divide, Kasey Chambers, Mark Olson, and some new ones from Willie.

I am also pleased to add some great songs from a local Savannah band, The Train Wrecks. This is the hardest working band in town!

In addition, I received some nice submissions from the Psychobilly Kadilaks and The Wayne Mills Band. Tune in and listen out for 'em.

If you like our tunes, be sure to check out Cosmic American Radio. They've got a great playlist and also based in Georgia.

Thank you Linda for the nice note! If you like Lucinda Williams, please also take a listen to Mary Gauthier. I've been really digging Between Daylight and Dark.

Please keep the comments, links, and music submissions coming. I do this fun and knowing that other folks give a damn about good music keeps me going!

Song for Friday: Broken

I haven't added it to the playlist yet, but I will once I get the whole album. This one really got in me today. I think I've played 10x already. Like some songs by the Jayhawks, I'm a real pushover for a twangy pop song.

Listen to Broken by Tift Merritt.

Update: I added this song to the playlist.
Playlist Update: Old and New

I've just added another 4 hours of music bringing the total to almost 22 hours! This batch has got some new stuff from 2008 (most notably the new DBT) and 2007. I've also added some Western Swing and a few straglers from the past 10 years. I'm digging deep for you!

The new tracks include music from Adolph Hofner, Bob Wills, Bobby Bare Jr, The Bottle Rockets, Calexico, Cliff Bruner, Dale Watson, Deadstring Brothers, Drive By Truckers (new!), The Flatlanders, Glen Handsard, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Jerry Irby, Jim Lauderdale, Jolie Holland, Julie Miller, Kenny Rogers, Kevin Fowler, King Wilkie, Little Big Town, Mandy Moore, Marah, Matt Costa, Nick Lowe, Otis Gibbs, Patty Griffin, Peter Case, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Red Stick Ramblers, The Reverend Horton Heat, Rick Nelson, Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, Sam Baker, Shelby Lynne, 16 Horsepower, Sunny Sweeney, Todd Snider, Tommy Duncan, Tyler Ramsey, and The Waterboys.

The western swing was requested by Ben, the man of many bird dogs! Because on Azilia Radio, we play *both* kinds of music: country and western.

There was also a special request for Kenny Rogers from Anne-lie from Sweden! These songs are dedicated to an old friend in Savannah.

Enjoy!
